WE WERE wondering what the collective noun for a series of potholes is? A purgatory of potholes, a pitstop of potholes, a puncturefest of potholes? Whatever the correct alliterative phrase, the potholes of Fairview Chase in Stanford-le-Hope have to be some of the worst in the borough. Unless of course, you know of a worse street?

This stretch of road is part of Thurrock Council’s 100 year commemoration of the start of WW1 by faithfully recreating what a cratered battlefield would look like.
To top it all the Council have yet again failed to clear the drains at the bottom of the hill so the road floods whenever it rains. This only happens every year.
