THURROCK Conservative Councillors have welcomed an announcement by the Post Office that Corringham Post Office is to become one of their new ‘main style branches’.

Conservative Councillor for Corringham Cllr Phil Anderson said: “This is a real vote of confidence in Corringham town centre and a welcome investment in our community. We know that people who come for post office services often stay to use other local shops and cafes too.

“Corringham has weathered the recession well despite it being a tough time for local traders. Hopefully this is a sign that business confidence is returning and that Corringham town centre has a bright future ahead of it.”

The post office will be closed for just over two weeks while the works are carried out. It will shut on Wed 23rd April at 17:45 and re-open at 13:00 on Fri 9th May.

The nearest alternative post offices are located in Corringham Road, Stanford-le-Hope and behind the village stores in Horndon-on-the-Hill.
