Thurrock in “top” ten in UK after named in air pollution breach

THURROCK has come under fire as it has been placed in the “top” ten places in the UK for breaching safe levels of air pollution.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) named London, Birmingham, Leeds, Chesterfield, Nottingham, Sheffield, Southampton, Stoke-on-Trent and Thurrock for breaching safe levels of air pollution. as having problems with levels of dangerous particles called PM10s.

People living in polluted areas are at greater risk of respiratory disease and other health problems.

Public Health England has said that air pollution was responsible for 25,000 deaths in England in 2010.

  1. Oh silly me, here was I thinking it was just the mould that was causing me breathing problems. I wonder if my councillor’s Charlie and Wendy Curtis would do us the curtisy of cutting the emissions on the Stifford Road, it wasn’t that long ago they went against 975 of their residents to stop the Howard Tenens entrance being moved.
