FIRE CREWS used two main jets to tackle four separate fires set deliberately on waste land close to a caravan park in Ship Lane, Aveley.
The first fire was extinguished by 22:45 hrs on Thursday May 15th. The other three 23:09 hrs. Crews then spent time turning over and damping down to ensure the fires were fully out. A Pinzgauer, off road firefighting unit was used to assist crews in reaching the fires due to difficult access.
It is believed the fires were started deliberately.
