A TOP THURROCK Conservative has joined the leader of Thurrock Council John Kent in denying stories regarding talks of a coalition.
Acting leader cllr Rob Gledhill said: “I can confirm that there has been no discussion had with Labour, or any other party, over what roles the Conservative Group will seek at the Council next year.
“I am extremely disappointed that this story was printed without verifying the information with the parties mentioned.
“I would make it clear no discussion of forming a coalition has taken place nor have any discussions been had over any civic or decision making roles by anyone in the Conservatives.
“We have made our position clear in the past few years that we feel the chairs of Overview & Scrutiny should rest with the opposition.
“However until we have met as a group on Monday we would not be in a position to confirm what roles we would be looking to nominate Conservative Councillors to.
“We are a team, and will discuss matters together on the best way forward to represent the residents who elected us”.

What you should have asked him Mike is, did he try to have a deal using Mr Graham Farrant as the go-between
He is as slippery as snot on a brass knob
Who –Old Happy Comrade Kent.
Superman – Rob Gledhill is probably one of the least ‘slippery’ councillors in Thurrock. The fact he held his seat with a sizeable majority shows that theres quite a lot of people who do trust him.
