ONE OF our readers was passing by Fairham Avenue in South Ockendon in late May, when he noticed a side of scaffolding up on a house. They didn’t think much of it until it it was still there a month later.
They had a closer look and it seemed to be there for just one single roof tile. As they passed by ever day, they didn’t appear to see much being done.
So, they contacted us and asked if the scaffolding was there for just one roof tile?
We asked Thurrock Council.
A spokesperson said: “This relates to a block of flats in Faymore Gdns (block 49-59) which runs off of Fairham Avenue.
“The scaffolding was put up as there is a large area of re-pointing that needs to be done.
“The roof tile has not been reported as a repair but will of course be replaced while the scaffold is there.
“A supervisor has arranged to meet the sub-contractor on site tomorrow to agree the works required, which will then be completed asap.
