Thurrock UKIP councillor’s drink drive case adjourned due to illness

A COURT CASE into an allegation of drink-driving made against Thurrock UKIP councillor Robert Ray has been adjourned.

The court was told that the Aveley cllr was in hospital. No further details were given.

Cllr Robert Ray (65) of Purfleet Road, Aveley, was arrested in the early hours of Friday June 13th morning after a dinner at the Orsett Hall Hotel in Thurrock.

He was bailed and was set appear at Basildon Magistrates Court this morning (July 1st).

The case has been adjourned until Tuesday July 22nd.
