Treetops kids top the Beat the Street league

treebeatCHILDREN from Treetops School in Grays have walked their way to the top tier of the Beat the Street Thurrock leader board.

They are now cheering on other players to make the final tally of the walking game 75,000 miles – three times the original target – when it ends on Tuesday, 22 July.

Participants have already won prizes ranging from free swims to designer glasses, and there will be cash prizes for the top teams.

Organisers are handing out more prizes to reward players who have helped Beat the Street Thurrock be such a success.

There are four more prizes for walking champions nominated by the public.

They are for:

• Most innovative walker. For an individual who has collected points in the most varied and imaginative way. Prize: Procter & Gamble hamper worth £150.

• Outstanding individual walker (under 18). For a child or teenager who has walked the furthest. Prize: Lego product or Boost Juice Bar smoothie session, intu Lakeside.

• Outstanding individual walker (over 18). For a teenager or adult who has walked the furthest. Prize: Prize: Procter & Gamble hamper worth £150.

• Outstanding family walkers. For a parent or parents and child or children who have walked the furthest together. Prize: A family meal for four at The Thurrock Hotel, Aveley.
