It is Big Lunch time again in Grays

ORGANISERS of the sixth Grays Big Lunch are planning a day of family fun at the end of the month.

Wednesday, 30 July is the date, and 11am to 3pm is the time for the annual one-day get together at Grays Town Park, off Bedford Road – bring a picnic and a blanket to sit on!

The event includes free activities, themed sports, a climbing wall, crafts, and information stands galore, offering a chance to meet new people and have fun.

Mayor of Thurrock, Cllr Steve Liddiard will be opening the Big Lunch at 11 and presenting prizes to some Beat the Street winners later in the day.

Cllr Richard Speight, Thurrock Council’s portfolio holder for communities, said: “I’d urge everyone who can to come along. It sounds like there’s plenty for everyone to do and lots of fun for all the family.”

This year’s event has attracted a record 65 stalls.

A similar free Big Lunch event is being held at Anchor Field, Tilbury, on Thursday, 21 August, between 11am and 3pm.
