Groovy time at the Cariads sixties night

cariadsTHURROCK Mayor Steve Lydiard and Mayoress attended a charity 70’s night on Friday 25 July at Stifford Clays Club hosted by a local organisation CARIADS.

CARIADS is a recognised service for carers appointed by Thurrock Council to provide information, advice and support to all adult family carers in Thurrock.  CARIADS is provided by a coalition of three local established voluntary sector organisations coming together – Thurrock Mind, Thurrock Lifestyle Solutions (CIC) and Thurrock Centre for Independent Living.

The evening was an opportunity for carers and their loved ones to come together in one place, irrespective of illnesses and disabilities – everyone had the opportunity to join in this fun evening over 100 people attended.

Over £400 was raised on the evening and will go toward continuing to support Thurrock carers during the coming months and putting on more events and activities – the carers are already requesting an 80’s night.  Great evening fun was had by all, including the Mayor and Mayoress who joined the Cariads staff in dressing up in 70’s theme.
