East Thurrock win Robin Nash trophy

    EAST Thurrock won the first Robin Nash Memorial Trophy with a single goal victory.

    Tilbury started well and went close when new signing Ben Hunt shot just wide after 23 minutes. Before the break East Thurrock had there own chance but were denied by a fine Dean Driscoll save.

    The only goal of the game 5 minutes after the break when a direct corner from Tom Stephen found its way into the net. over Driscoll. Ben Hunt again went close on 57 but was denied by a brilliant save. The Dockers still tried to attack and substitute Harry Cook fired wide late on.

    After the game manager Paul Vaughan commented “I was pleased overall with the performance against a Ryman Premier side. Pre season is now done and we must focus on League points. I am pleased I now have a settled squad.

    On Saturday Tilbury welcome Brightlingsea Regent for the first game of the season. 3pm kick off.
