THURROCK’S Women’s Aid is the latest in a number of key organisations having their funding cut by Thurrock Council.
Over the last four years, Thurrock’s Women’s Aid has received an annual payment of over £211,000.
However, in their list of cuts for the coming year, Thurrock Council has announced that it will: "Reduce the provision of childrens support services at Womens Aid refuge and ensure funding is based on assessed need through MASH/Early offer of help.
The reduction in real terms is just over £46,000 a year.
