SET in 30 acres of countryside, the annual Orsett Show is always a great day out for all the family with lots to see and do.

The Show is one of the oldest one-day Country Shows in England and this year is the 108th Show which is a great achievement. Last year, the Show attracted a very impressive 12,000 visitors.

There will be marquees featuring Horticulture, Agriculture, Hobbies & Handicrafts, Schools, Craft Stalls and over 100 Trade Stands arranged around the outside of the Show Ground. In the centre of the Show, there’s always an ever-changing programme of exciting displays in the Grand Show Ring and events throughout the day in the Horse Rings.

The gates open at 9.00am and the Show closes at 5.00pm.

Below is the timetable for the Main Show Ring at this year’s Show – there is something for everyone!

    12.00pm – Grand Parade

    12.30pm – Horse & Hounds

    1.00pm – Birds of Prey

1.30pm – The Royal British Legion Band & Corps Of Drums, Romford

    2.00pm – Dog Display Team

    2.30pm – Motorbike Display Team

    3.00pm – Birds of Prey

3.30pm – The Royal British Legion Band & Corps Of Drums, Romford

    4.00pm – Dog Display Team

    4.30pm – Motorbike Display Team

5.00pm – Thurrock Community Chest Prize Draw

As you can see, Thurrock Community Chest will be making their prize draw with the Mayor of Thurrock and Jeff Brazier (from ITV’s Dancing on Ice and This Morning) at 5pm. The top prize is a car kindly donated by Tony Levoi Vauxhall, which is very exciting as you can quite possibly attend this year’s Show and be the owner of a new car by the time you leave as the last of the tickets will be sold during the day prior to the Draw at 5pm.

The cast of the Thameside Theatre’s Pantomime will be at the Orsett Show including Jeff Brazier who will be playing the Prince in this year’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Pantomime. They will be on the Showground between 12.00pm and 5.00pm mingling with the crowds and no doubt entertaining.

There will lots of activity on the Impulse Leisure stage throughout the day and of course so much more happening in the Horse Rings and the many marquees featuring Horticulture, Agriculture, Hobbies & Handicrafts, Schools, Craft Stalls and well over 100 Trade Stands.

This year there is great news for families in that kids go FREE (under 16 years) when accompanied by a full paying adult. Adult tickets are £12.00 on the day and Concessions for OAPs are £10.00 on the day. The Show has free on-site parking as well as a disabled parking area.

The weather looks good as we speak and fingers crossed it will stay that way. Hope to see you all there.
