Tilbury 2 v 2 Redbridge
TILBURY and Redbridge shared the points in an un inspiring game, but the result saw Redbridge drop to the bottom of the league.
Tilbury welcomed back Francis Babalola and gave a first start of the season to Bradley Webb at right back. The first period was littered with mistakes but both sides could not capitalise. The first clear chance of the game fell on 18 when Wallace cross had to be tipped over by Ramos.
From the next attack it was Tilbury’s chance when Aiken struck from 30 yards that was only a whisker over the top. Tilbury then had three separate corners, but were denied by fine keeping from Mark Parker. On the third corner Flack floated the ball into the box and it found Aiken who back flicked from 6 yards into the net. Two minutes later Redbridge had the ball in the net, but the goal was ruled offside from a tap in from Fatai. Just before the break Mark Parker was on hand to make a fine save from a Jack West effort.
The second half was a quieter affair with little goal action until the 65th minute when Tilbury failed to clear and the box fell to substitute Brian Moses who hit home. With the tails up Redbridge then took the lead 2 minutes later when Chinedu McKenzie waltzed through unchallenged to slot past Ramos. Both sides created little, with only a rare Tilbury attack with 10 minutes remaining seeing Christou heading just over.
Tilbury grabbed a point with 2 minutes remaining when a Tom Wood free-kick was saved by Parker, but Sam West was on hand to tap home. Deep into injury time Jack West saw his 25 yard effort go past the post.
The result sees Tilbury drop one place to 14th and Redbridge moving to the bottom of the league.
Tilbury are back at home on Tuesday when they entertain Waltham Abbey with changes expected in Tilbury’s line up.
