THE LABOUR candidate for Thurrock, in next year’s General Election, Polly Billington, has been the subject of a number of attacks by UKIP.
So, we thought we would pop down and see Polly as she was out campaigning in West Thurrock and South Stifford for the ward by-election on Thursday.
We put a number of UKI’s barbs to Polly and see what she had to say.
The one thing that shines from Polly is a sense of social justice underpinned by a deep belief in economic fair play. Ms Billington’s concentration on wages, jobs and hopes, she believes, in the long term, will resonate more with voters than other issues.
On a local level, Polly’s thoughts on the upcoming by-election are interesting and maybe a subtle psychological move. (Or are we thinking too much about this?).
