SUSTRANS Bike It officer Hannah Brittain (pictured) made fruit fun for pupils at Orsett Primary School when she visited with her new smoothie bike.
Over 100 children in Years 3 to 6 tested their pedal power to make delicious fruit smoothies which they drank at the end of the sessions. The aim was to get them thinking about the benefits of both healthy eating and cycling.
One satisfied pupil said: “This is great because you get good exercise, and then get a healthy smoothie at the end of it.”
Orsett was the first school to try out Hannah’s smoothie bike session and others are to follow. The bike will also make an appearance at Woodside Academy’s Christmas Bazaar in December.
