Make a difference day in Aveley

NGAGE, the community organisation and Volunteer Centre for Thurrock held a ‘Make a difference day’ event at the Aveley recreational park to support ‘Make a difference’, the UK’s biggest month of voluntary action.

Employees from McDonalds came along to help with the clear up as well as volunteers from the Aveley Community Forum. Annette Lewis, community worker for ngage said” We had such a fabulous day and were overwhelmed with what was achieved. As well as litter picking the park, the caged areas were cleared of glass. Volunteers also took to the streets and helped clear them from litter.

Volunteers really enjoyed themselves and we received many positive comments from the community. We would like to thank McDonalds staff and Aveley volunteers for their hard work and commitment to the day. We would also like to thank Aveley youth and community centre for providing hot chocolate and biscuits for volunteers”.
