UKIP councillor for Corringham issues statement on Labour stall attack

THE UKIP councillor for Stanford East and Corringham Town, cllr Roy Jones has issued a statement in light of the incidents that occurred in the town centre at the weekend.

Cllr Jones said:

"I was saddened to hear the distress that was caused by thugs attacking a Labour stall supporting the NHS Services at Corringham Town Centre on Sat 15th November 2014

"I fully support and hope that Essex Police capture these unruly thugs.

"We hope they are captured and justice to these thugs will be handed out.

"As was stated by the Labour stallholders, the perpetrators’ allegedly said they were UKIP supporters, which I very much doubt.

"If this is found to be the case they will be instantly dismissed from the party.

"We have a lot of anti-social behaviour related crime by youths and yobs in the Corringham and Stanford -Le -Hope area. For example: Youths riding quad bikes through the town centre, youths damaging cars and youths calling in the library and making a nuisance of themselves.

"Ask any Local Forum member or residents what crime is like in this area.

It is with great sadness that this Labour stall holder’s incident was reported to the national press (Daily Mirror) before any investigation by the police was completed.

Normally crimes of this nature locally don’t make national press.

I just hope that the Labour PPC Mike Le Surf has the decency to apologise for making such a statement, if found, that these thugs were nothing to do with UKIP.

CLLR ROY JONES.
