Thurrock’s young cricketers pay tribute to Philip Hughes

    YOUNG cricketers from all over the borough paid their respects to there late Australian cricketer, Philip Hughes.

    International cricketer, Philip Hughes died from injuries sustained by a cricket ball hitting him in the neck in a match in Sydney.

    With the funeral set for next week, cricketers from all over the world have been paying their respects.

    A twitter campaign called "Put out your bats’ has proved very popular.

    Thurrock cricketer and devoted Grays Ath fan Michael Parker sent out a tweet which had a picture of his bat.

    On Friday night, Belhus and Benfleet under 16 players, held a minutes silence at their indoor match in Grays.
