Man wanted after attempt robbery in Grays

ESSEX Police want to hear from anyone who recognises an e-fit of a man who carried out an attempted robbery in Manor Road, in Grays, on Wednesday December 10. A man was sat in his Volvo car, at around 6pm, at a junction when the suspect approached him and punched him through the open driver’s side window. He then grabbed the driver by the collar and tried to pull open the door.

The victim managed to drive off and the suspect let go. Detective Constable Clive Day said: "The victim was not badly hurt but this was clearly a very unsettling experience for him and I would like to arrest this man as soon as possible.

He was 6ft 3in tall, of skinny build and in his early 20s. He has wearing a dark coloured leather style bomber jacket with two light coloured lines running up the arms and a round badge on the left pocket. He also had on dark trousers, turquoise training shoes and a black woollen hat with a large peak and ear flaps on the side.

He also had a distinctive red mark running along the left hand side of his jaw. If anyone recognises the e-fit or has any other information that could help me then I would ask them to contact me at Grays CID on 101 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
