Ipswich 7 v 31 Thurrock
TWO wins on the trot was just the tonic for Thurrock whose first half performance was excellent scoring 4 tries and securing a bonus point also. Thurrock scored after only two minutes when Kealan Henry went over to score, Jake Barrand hit the upright with the conversion.
Thurrock continued to attack and stand in winger Sam Manning was next to score gliding over in the corner, Barrand secured the conversion, then Dan Carey got his name on the score sheet going over for any easy score, Barrand adding the extra’s.
Thurrock then stormed clear when the forwards turned over good ball, and Joss Nunn sprinted in to the corner and Thurrock went into the break with a 24-0 lead.
The second half was not so fluent with Ipswich making some positional changes and their 8 and 10 ran with the ball in all area’s so Thurrock spent a lot of time defending and they did that well but a missed tackle see the home side make 80 metres and had support on hand to score a converted try. Thurrock let a couple of opportunities escape but Freddie Russo was on hand to kick the ball through following a mistake in the Ipswich back line and he won the race to touch down, Barrand added his third conversion to complete a fine win
