POLICE investigating a spate of car crime in the Churchill area of Grays have charged a man with 18 offences.
Danny Cole, aged 20, of Buckles Lane, in South Ockendon, was arrested on Thursday February 19 on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle. He was taken to Grays Police Station for interview and was subsequently charged with 11 counts of criminal damage to vehicles, three counts of vehicle interference and three counts of theft from vehicles.
He was also charged with one count of burglary from a shed. He has been released on conditional bail to appear before Basildon Magistrates Court on Friday March 6.
Detective Constable Matt Bedingfield, of Grays CID, said: "We are continuing to investigate other offences in the Churchill area and would urge anyone with information who has not yet spoken us to call me at Grays Police Station on 101.”
