ESSEX Police are investigating two incidents at Chadwell St Mary in which two teenage girls and a woman were approached by two men in a car.
At around 5.30pm on March 9, a woman was asked for directions by two men in a Ford Focus at Feenan Highway, opposite Cowper Avenue.
Shortly before 6pm on the same day, two teenage girls were approached by two men in a Ford Focus at Ingleby Road as the girls were walking towards Defoe Parade.
The men attempted to engage the girls in conversation before driving off.
One of the men is described as white, aged in his late 20s to early 30s, with a bald head and a ginger beard. The other was of Asian appearance and of a similar age. They spoke with Eastern European accents.
There was a rear passenger in the car, described as around 15 years of age, with light coloured hair which was tied in a ponytail. She had a black coat with a fur lined hood. She did not say anything but appeared to be in distress.
Investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector Simon Werrett, said: "At this point we don’t know the circumstances surrounding the men or the vehicle so we’d urge anyone with information to contact us.
"I would like to speak to the passenger seen in the car to ensure she is safe and well.”
Anyone with information or anyone who saw the occupants of a Ford Fiesta acting suspiciously in the area at the time should contact officers on 101 or Brentwood MIT 01245 282103.
