THURROCK Council has issued a statement detailing how a number of agencies are working together following the tragic deaths of two students at Ockendon Academy in under seven months.
A spokeperson said: "The Council and the Academy are working closely together and with other agencies to ensure that children’s safety and welfare are paramount following recent tragic events.
"The council will continue to work with police, health, the Academy and Independent Local Safeguarding Children’s Board.
"The Council and the Academy are unable to discuss any details of this case in public, whether through media or otherwise.
"Support and counselling has been made available to students and staff at the Academy.
