THE SPEED limit on the A13 will be reduced to 40mph from March 17th.
The limit is placed through the roadwork that stretch from Wennington and will be in force for 52 weeks.
The new 50mph signs will be replaced by new 40mph signs.
A statement from the Highways Agency said: "A permanent 50mph speed limit came into force on 6 January for A13 between Wennington and A1089. The permanent 50mph speed limit will help to reduce speed related incidents on this section of the A13 and enable the new road layout.
"We have installed average speed cameras to enforce this new speed limit and they will also be used to enforce a temporary 40mph speed limit throughout the works".
