A FEW weeks ago, it was announced that monies would be found to keep Thurrock libraries open. It was also announced that a new library would be opened in Purfleet.
But you did feel there was a "Be careful what you wish for" element to the whole issue. Or, as we out it, "Read the small print."
So, we asked Thurrock Council leader, John Kent a simple question: "Will there be job losses?"
The answer was "Yes:
We trust that, as there was a campaign to ‘Save the libraries" so there will also be a campaign to "Save the librarians" Or, are they two different issues?
