Volunteers wanted at Hardie Park this Easter

VOLUNTEER Centre Thurrock is recruiting volunteers for the Friends of Hardie Park to help out at their Easter Event taking place on Tuesday 31st March, Hardie Park, Stanford le Hope.

There are a number of roles available including setting up and dismantling tables/shelters/equipment, hiding Easter eggs, running stalls and much more.

Timebank Thurrock is supporting the recruitment of volunteers by donating time credits to those people who are Time bank members and get involved.

Timebanking is a new project where people can offer help to other people or local projects, and choose help they’d like in return. For every hour, equivalent to one time credit, someone ‘deposits’ in a Time bank, they can ‘withdraw’ the equivalent time back in support when they need it.

Each person decides what they can offer and everyone’s time is equal. But even if you are not a Time Bank member you can still volunteer for this fun filled day.

Laura Hudson, Volunteer Coordinator for ngage said “Volunteers are so important to making community events a success, and there are many roles that volunteers can do to support them. Volunteering’s a great way for people to get to know other people and to give back to the local community”.

“We’re also looking for volunteers 18+ for Thurrock Lifestyle Solutions as part of their 6 month rolling volunteer programme to provide support and assistance to people with disabilities in the Stanford Centre at The Sorrells. Time commitment is 10am -4pm, with possible evenings where needed.Â

A minimum of 2 days a week and 6months commitment to the role is required. Duties will include assisting with activities within the base, leisure and recreation activities in the community e.g. bowling, cinema, swimming, sports, gym, fishing, shopping and much more”.
