THE LEADER of UKIP, Nigel Farage launched his party’s manifesto for the 2015 General Election in Thurrock.

The event, which attracted the world’s media, was held at the Thurrock Hotel.

Mr Farage began the manifesto by saying that: "We want our country back"

He went on to stress that the manifesto was fully costed.

He made reference to" No tax on minimum wage, new 30p tax on those on wage between £35k and £55k.

"We are fully committed to the founding principles of the NHS. We will fund the provision of 8,000 new GPS.

"We will increase the carers allowance to £62 a week".

Both Mr Farage and then Director of Policy, Suzanne Evans stressed the strain that immigration has put on a number of services.

Mr Farage said: "Our rapidly increased population has put a strain on all our services.

"With the current planning system, one house every seven minutes has to be built due to immigration."

"But we will implement a brownfield revolution

Suzanne Evans went on to cover a number of other issues and commented: "Not bad for a single issue party."

But Ms Evans said: "Immigrants are not the problem. It is the system that is the problem."
