A walk on the wild side in Langdon Hills

THE Friends of Langdon Hills are now offering some topical walks to share with people the wonders of this wildlife haven.

The Friends group was set up when Thurrock became a unitary authority, to help the Rangers with managing the park and putting on events and shows.

Unfortunately as part of the recent cut-backs pushed forward by Thurrock Council, no ranger-led public activities are going to be offered at the park.

Although on a lesser scale, the Friends of Langdon Hills are offering a number of topical walks, the first being a Wildflower Walk on Sunday 10th May. This walk takes place at One Tree Hill, meeting at the Information Room at 2pm. The Friends group asks for a £1 donation from non-members who wish to attend (members of the group can attend for free).

There are also Sunday volunteer work parties for the Friends group, taking place fortnightly and meeting at Westley Heights at 10am.
