THURROCK maintained their incredible start to the season with their sixth win in succession in a thriller against Little Baddow.
The visitors batted first and while no batsman scored more than 50, most of the line-up contributed to post a very good score of 246. Daniel Laird top scored with 50, while there was some other important knocks from Rhys Hymas (43), Clarke Wren (32) and Umar Ayub (28).
The hosts were looking for a good start to give themselves a chance at chasing down the total. But the top three were all dismissed by Umaad Sultan, who finished with 3-42 from his ten overs. It was only some valiant hitting down the order that gave Little Baddow a chance. Suddenly they were on 243 with just four runs to win with one wicket in hand. But a calamitous run out, which ended up with both batsmen at one end, secured a win for Thurrock by just three runs to maintain their position at the top of the Premier Division.
