Grays Athletic excited at new partnership

GRAYS Athletic Football club are excited to announce that they have formed a partnership with the Essex Football Academy for 16-19 year olds.

The scholarship programme in association with Grays Athletic FC offers 16-19 year olds the chance to train full time with their head of academy, the coaching on our elite programme focuses specifically on individual development, technical understanding, teamwork drills and enhancing fitness. The players will also get the opportunity to play weekly matches against a number of academy sides including several professional clubs which is vital for their overall development.

A spokesperson said: "The Essex football Academy will work in partnership with Grays Athletic and each player is given a performance based pathway into the clubs first team, the Academy also have the privilege of being based in our state of the art facilities in Loughton, Essex situated a few minutes walk from Debden train station enabling easy access from London and the surrounding areas where our scholars will train and study each day.

The players will study on site with one of the UK’s leading private education providers Virtual Learning to make sure they are receiving top education both on and off the field. Virtual Learning work with a number of Premier League clubs and will be working with our scholars full time throughout their time on the elite programme giving the boys a national qualification equivalent to 3 A levels.

The Academy offers a wide range of activities and opportunities for all players aged 5-16 to learn the game in a safe, friendly and enjoyable atmosphere.

Enjoy sessions focused on specific skills and techniques then put them to the test in small sided games. All our coaches are experienced, professional and dedicated to the development of all our players from grass roots through to advanced academy scholars and are:

Qualified to a ‘minimum’ of FA level 2

Fully trained in first aid

Certified in safeguarding children

Holders of enhanced DBS checks
