THURROCK Council’s trading standards are appealing to residents for any information about shops selling age-restricted products such as alcohol, tobacco and fireworks to minors.
Portfolio holder for public protection, Cllr Terry Brookes, said: “Our trading standards team work tirelessly to make sure residents are treated fairly, but more importantly, our residents are kept safe
“Underage sales of tobacco and alcohol to young people can cause them to have health issues as well as impact on anti-social behaviour in an area.
“If you have any information about any shop, stall or pub supplying age restricted items to young people we want to hear from you.”
