THE CHADWELL community has come to the rescue of a dog that was apparently dumped at the side of the road.
The rottweiler dog was found on Chadwell St Mary hill this afternoon (Wednesday).
The dog was described as "skin and bone and not using its back legs".
Local photographer Rob Lay told YT: "The resident, with help, from another resident picked the dog up and put it into their car and took it straight to Tilbury vets.
"The staff at the Vets helped get the dog out of the car. The resident who brought the dog said even the staff at the vets were in tears at the state of the dog.
"The kind hearted resident even put her own money up to help with treatment for the dog.
Mr Lay concluded: "I would just like to add that there are some really nice people out there that want to help. Thank you from me and Chadwell St Mary community for stopping and helping".
