A Thurrock Council by-election is being held in the West Thurrock and South Stifford ward – including Purfleet – on Thursday, 10 September.
People living in the area and wanting to vote should know the deadline for proxy registrations is 5pm on Tuesday, 2 September, although if an elector has a medical or work emergency and is unable to attend the polling station on election day they can apply for an emergency proxy application.
Electors should have received their postal vote pack if they registered – if not they should contact electoral services at Thurrock Council on 01375 652816 or at [email protected]
Postal votes must be returned by 10pm on Thursday, 10 September, but they can be returned to a polling station in the ward on polling day. Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm on the day.
