BATTLE of Britain planes flew over Thurrock today, marking the 75th anniversary of the battle which was an integral part of World War Two.
Prince Harry joined veterans to see the historic aircraft take to the skies at Goodwood Aerodrome in West Sussex, in a day that saw the highest number of Spitfires and Hurricanes in any one place since World War Two.
The aircraft flew across the south of England over towns that were bombed by Nazi aircraft during the Battle of Britain, with the Prince set to fly in a two-seater Spitfire until he gave up his seat to ensure veteran Tom Neil and two wounded servicemen could take part.
A service was also held in London at St Paul’s Cathedral.
