ONE of the first items on the agenda for Thurrock Council Cabinet meetings is the snappily titled "Month 3/Quarter 1 Corporate Performance Report".
As the meeting clashes with The Great British Bake Off, you may have missed it.
The item is basically a report card for the council. The departments and functions are judged by what they call Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
The ones they discuss first are the ones in the red. Our attention was drawn to Item 3.14: Complaints turnaround
Portfolio holder, cll Victoria Holloway said: " A high volume of complaints have escalated to Stage 3 this quarter and this has resulted in significantly increased demand on the corporate team".
So, who is making all these complaints? Are they valid and is Thurrock Council unique to this problem?
Or is it a sustained strategy from a political party?
Over the next few weeks we aim to find out.
