Ockendon Conservative councillor pledges to keep an eye on Flowers Estate plans

THE CONSERVATIVE councillor for Ockendon, cllr Barry Johnson has vowed to keep an eye on plans Thurrock Council has for the Flowers Estate.

As reported last week, Thurrock Council has plans to improve the housing estate. Their initial plans will include the provision of what the describe as twelve units in the Tamarisk Road area.

But this is with a view to "facilitate wider estate regeneration of Flowers Estate."

Councillor Barry Johnson, said: " I personally believe that thoughtful and considerate regeneration on the estate would be welcome.

"I do hope we do not see a return to the heavy handed approach of the Development Corporation (DC).

"The residents must come first.

YT did invite the UKIP councillors for Ockendon, Kevin Wheeler and Chris Baker to respond but they have not replied.
