Tottenham legends to play at charity match in Thurrock

ON Sunday 27th September, Tony Gay (Assistant Coach at Thurrock FC) hosts a Charity Football Match in aid of Stem Cell treatment for Tottenham Hotspur fan Shelly Webb.

Shelley Webb, 30, is preparing to fly out to Miami next month for stem cell treatment which she hopes could help her walk, run or even dance again in the near future.

The cost of the trip and treatment will be covered by money raised when the Tottenham Legends team turn out for a match at Thurrock FC’s ground in Kent.

It has been organised after Ms Webb bumped into Mark Stimson, who played for Spurs in the 1980s and works with the Legends team, while on a hen party in Magaluf earlier this year.

The match will take place at Ship Lane (home of Thurrock FC) against a Spurs Legends team, including Darren Anderton, Mark Falco, David Howells (subject to availability) and Thurrocks own Manager Mark Stimson.

Tony’s team has ex-Thurrock and Ex -Grays Athletic players as well as a few household names including Jimmy Bullard and Jeff Brazier plus a few yet to be revealed names.

Kick off is 2pm for the main game, but our gates open at 11.30am as we host Youth mini games on the main Thurrock pitch.

There will also be a penalty shoot out at half time against Thurrock FC Goal keepers and an auction after the match to raise money for this cause.

Prices are Adults £6 and Children £2
