SLOWLY but surely, East Thurrock United are heading in the right direction in the Ryman Premier league.
Needham Market have struggled this season and this gam may well have been typical for them.
The Rocks opened the scoring through Sammy Knott in the 25th minute. They extended the lead through Ashley Miller in the 58th.
There was a late scare when Sam Newson hit back two minutes from time but Tom Wraight put the game beyond doubt in injury time.
The result sees East Thurrock rise to 14th in the league and just win points off the play-offs.
They return to action on Saturday against Hampton and Richmond.
