THE MESSAGE from the East Tilbury community to the company planning to build in their community was quite clear: "You plans will devastate our community".
Hundreds of resident, some on horseback, picketed a consultation day organised by the agents of the developers, Iceni/Cogent as they laid out plans to build over a 1,000 homes in East Tilbury.
Residents concerns include a general concern about building on the green belt but also specific concerns about the Green Belt. Aligned with this is the anxiety about the traffic infrastructure and the level crossing.
