THURROCK Council health bosses have revealed their plans to care for hundreds of venerable Thurrock residents after two private companies handed back their contracts.

The details were announced at a meeting of the Health and Well Being Committee on Monday night.

Health boss, Roger Harris confirmed that two companies who deliver what is called as domiciliary care (care in your own home) had given notice leaving up to three hundred residents.

The situation has been so critical that it was reported that during the weekend, council officers were running around the borough helping to ensure that residents were cared for.
