GRAYS Athletic slumped to a disappointing home defeat against relegation-threatened VCD Athletic.
The Kent side earned the three points through a penalty by Mathias Bakkare in the 54th minute. Grays also lost defender Jay Leader who was sent off at the same time.
The defeat sees Grays, who led the league for long periods fall to twelfth in the table.
They do have a number of games in hand and are only five points off the play offs but there is a question now of whether they have the capacity to bridge that gap.
The Blues return to action against Hendon away on Monday night at 7.45pm.
