    Thurrock 16 v 15 CS Rugby

THURROCK returned to winning ways in a very hard fought contest, neither side being helped by inconsistent refereeing and the strong breeze causing problems with either sides kicking game.

Tom Hodgson put the visitors ahead with a simple penalty in front of the posts, although he missed two others from a similar field position, Thurrock however stormed straight back an managed to put phases together and from a 5 metre scrum, No8

James Flavin picked up to score, Tim Blundell added the conversion, and then two further penalties to make it 13-6 after Hodgson added another penalty for the visitors.

The second half was then and old fashioned middle of the park game with neither side getting the upper hand, but a controversial try unconverted and a penalty put the visitors 15-13 ahead with 10 minutes to go

Thurrock continued to press and with 2 minutes to go Tim Blundell kept his composure to slot the winning penalty.

This week away at Tring, 2pm kick off
