GP services in Thurrock are to be trialled in the evenings between Christmas and New Year.
From Monday, 28 December, to New Year’s Eve, four health hubs across the Borough will be open for an extra two hours.
A weekend GP service launched earlier this year in Corringham, Grays, South Ockendon and Tilbury, offering patients the chance to see GPs and nurses over a three hour period on a Saturday and Sunday. It means patients across the Borough have access to an extra 280 appointments over a weekend to see a GP or nurse.
Now as a trial, the service will be accessible in the evening.
The following health hubs will be open from 6.30pm-8.30pm on 28, 29, 30 and 31 December:
Corringham: Neera Medical Centre, Wharf Road, Stanford-le-Hope
Tilbury: The Health Centre, London Road
Grays: Thurrock Community Hospital, Long Lane
South Ockendon: Purfleet Care Centre, Tank Hill Road
On Boxing Day and Sunday, 27 December, only the Tilbury and Grays hubs will be open.
Normal Saturday and Sunday hours for all hubs is 9.15am-12.30pm.
