A man will appear in court later this month charged with seven offences which follow a pursuit of a car in Chadwell St Mary last year.

Norbert Gola, 19, was one of two men arrested after a Ford Fiesta failed to stop for police on the afternoon of 7 November, 2015, and lost control at the junction of Longhouse Road and Brentwood Road.

When he returned on police bail on 8 January, 2016, the man who is of no fixed address, was charged with burglary, theft from a motor vehicle, making off without payment of fuel from BP Stanford-le-Hope on 29 October, 2015, dangerous driving, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, using a vehicle without insurance and driving while under the influence of cannabis.

He has been released on police bail to appear before magistrates in Basildon on 26 January.

The second man, aged 20, also of no fixed address, failed to answer his bail on 8 January and enquiries are continuing to trace him.
