GRAYS Phoenix returned to the riverfront this Sunday to Clean for the Queen!
Volunteers from the community group were joined by
local councillor Jane Pothecary and former Mayor Tony Fish to
litter pick the stretch of riverfront from the Wharf pub to
Wouldham Road. Linda Allchin from Grays Phoenix said
"We managed to collect almost 30 bags rubbish and the riverfront
is looking much clearer. We are organising further litter picks for
the next few Sundays. If you can spare an hour or so of your time
to help make your local community a cleaner place for all, please
join us." Local councillor Jane Pothecary said "It was lovely to be
down by the river, our greatest asset, helping make Grays better.
Grays Phoenix are doing a fantastic job and it would be great to
see more people joining in." Grays Phoenix meet at 10.00am in
the Wharf Pub car park each Sunday. For more information, Grays
Phoenix has an active Facebook page.
