Manhunt for two men from Grays after incident involving firearm in Aveley

    Update at 1530 hrs

    ESSEX Police carried out a search warrant at an address in the Seabrooke Rise area of Grays this morning, Sunday April 3, in connection with an ongoing investigation.

    Officers were contacted at about 7.35pm on Saturday April 2 with reports two men had forced their way into an address in Arnhem Avenue, Aveley.

    They were armed with a knife and a firearm and threatened and assaulted the occupant, a man aged in his 60s.

    He suffered stab wounds to his arm and leg, which were not serious, and was taken to hospital for treatment.

    Officers attended the scene and carried out extensive searches of the area for the suspects, who remain outstanding.

    The victim and the suspects are known to each other and police would like to reassure the public this was an isolated incident.

    YT has received a report of a police incident in Grays.

    There have been a number of reports of large police presence in the Seabrooke Rise area since the early hours of Sunday morning.

    We have contacted Essex Police but have yet to receive a reply.
