Bank Holiday fun in Tilbury

LINKUP has organised a Family Fun Day out at the Koala Park on Monday 2 May 2016 for residents of the Broadway Estate in Tilbury.

The event has been organised by local residents who have grown in confidence since pulling off successful family fun days in the park last year with the support of local charity, One Community Development Trust.

Sarah Bryant, One Community’s Chair, said: “We are in the second year of a project supporting the Broadway residents who have now worked alongside Thurrock Council to receive £68,000K from Veolia Trust to improve the play equipment.

The LinkUp project has been made possible thanks to a grant from money raised by HealthStrength through The Health Lottery, and May 2 promises to be a brilliant day for Broadway residents.’

About 300 residents will descend on the Koala Park which sits in the middle of the Broadway Estate in Tilbury to enjoy a day of fun with fellow residents. The event will be opened by the Mayor of Thurrock.

One Community’s Project Coordinator, Yewande Kannike, said: “The last year has seen the LinkUp team partnering with Thurrock Council, Tilbury Spirit, c2c and other local groups to help bring much needed improvements, and harmony amongst the residents of the Tilbury Flats and Houses which make up the Broadway Estate. We are really proud of their achievement
