Thurrock 26 v 19 Harrow
THURROCK ended their league campaign with securing a bonus point victory over relegated Harrow. The game was delayed due to a problem with the referee’s arrival but the home crowd was treated to a good game of rugby.
Scores came from Tom Pool, Tom Worsfold and Charlie Russo with Tim Blundell adding two conversions. The visitors scored a try from a 5 metre line and also scored a similar effort immediately after the break and despite their league position was a match for the home side with the core at 19-12, Thurrock scored two tries not given from Tom Pool and Jake Barrand the former being penalised for a double movement despite not being held, and Barrand won a kick chase the ref however believed Harrow got the first touch, a melee resulted and both Thurrock and Harrow second rows where sent to the bin.
But Barrand did get the 4th try and the bonus point converted by Blundell before Harrow intercepted a long pass to score another converted try in injury time, which gave the home support a nervy final 2 minutes. But they held on for victory and a final league position of 4th
Overall a good season much improved and augers well for a promotion push next season
