ON Bank Holiday Monday, Thurrock Harriers hosted the Annual Essex County Multi Events Championship. Four Essex Medals, 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze and many Personal and seasons Bests were brought home by the Thurrock Athlete’s on the day.
All at Thurrock are very proud of the athletes and their efforts.
Under 17 M Charlie Splarn gained a Silver Essex Medal as well as 3 Pbs on the day. Long Jump 5.05m SB, 200m 25.60s SB, Discus 24.60m PB, as well as a PB in the 1500m and Pent score PB.
Under 17W Jess Whitbread missed out on a medal but took home 2PBs, jumping 1.37m in the High jump and 4.99m in the Long Jump, with a SB in Shot put.
Under 15B Theo Adesina totally deserved the Gold Essex Medal with 2 PBs, with a 6.45m jump in Long Jump and an outdoor Pent PB with a score of 2793.
Daniel Ogutuga also brought home 4 PB’s winning the Essex Bronze medal, 80m hurdles 14.2s PB, 9.85m shot put PB, 5.96m Long Jump PB, pent score PB of 2151.
Gbenga Adewole gained 2 PB’s, 80m hurdles 18.8s and in shot put with a throw of 4.30m PB.
Under 13B Oreofeoluwa Adepegba was smiling after winning the Essex Gold Medal as well as taking home 3PBs, in Shot put 8.53m PB, the 800m 2.44.7s PB and a pent score of 1523 PB.
Daniel Lucking gained 5 PB’s, 75m hurdles 15.8s PB, shot put 5.25m PB, 1.20m High jump PB, 800m 2.46.0 PB and a PB in his Pent Score.
Daniel Emeka-Ugwuda took home PBs. 75m Hurdles 16.5s PB, shot put 6.31m PB and Pent score PB.
Sean Emeka-Ugwuda made 2 PBs, shot put 5.15m PB and a Pent score PB.
Tosin Olajide did well bringing home 5PBs, 75m Hurdles 16.6s PB, shot put 5.95m PB, Long Jump 3.96m PB, 800m 3.30.4 PB and a Pent score PB.
Liam Norcott brought home a SB in 75m Hurdles with a time of 17.4s and a PB in the shot put with a throw of 3.80m.
Under 15G Sola Taiwo won a Bronze Essex Medal with 4 PBs, 75m Hurdles 12.4s PB,Shot put 7.63m PB, high Jump 1.44m PB and a Pent score PB of 2391.
Funminiyi Olajide gained 2Pbs and a SB, in shot put 10.15m PB, 800m 3.31.6 SB and an overall Pent score of 2364 PB.
Leisha Hunt ran a SB in the 800m with time of 2.43.7s and brought home a Pent score PB of 2328.
Ruby Bridger gained a PB in her overall pent score of 2168 PB.
Tolani Odumosu gained a PB in every event, 6 in total! 75m Hurdles 16.0s PB, long jump 3.65m PB, shot put 6.07m PB, high jump 1.14m PB, 800m 2.52.3s PB and a Pent score PB.
Newcomer, Nicole Emeke-Ugwuadu also PB’d in every event, 75m Hurdles 18.9s PB, Long Jump 3.51m PB, High Jump 1.20m PB, shot put 5.70m PB, 800m 2.54.8s PB and over Pent score PB.
Under 13g
Funmi Adewole brought home 4 PBs. 70m Hurdles 14.4s PB, Long Jump 4.02m PB, 800m 3.08.6s PB and an overall Pent score PB of 1492.
Tilly Monk did well in all her events too, gaining 5 PBs and a SB. 70m Hurdles 14.9s PB, High Jump 1.19m SB, Long Jump 3.57m PB, Shot Put 4.91m PB, 800m 2.56.6s PB and Pent score PB of 1450.
Chloe Brand also gained 4 PBs, High Jump 0.98m PB, Shut Put 4.15m PB, 800m 2.59.4s PB and overall pent score PB.
Scarlett Carter also brought home an array of PBs, 5 in total, 70m Hurdles 15.7s PB, high Jump 1.19m PB, Long Jump 2.76m PB, 800m 3.19.2s PB and Pent score PB.
